**The long grey-brown grass whispers softly, telling whoever would be silent enough to listen of a new visitor. Its whispers aren't heard though, something caused by the fact that this visitor is the very image of stealth and danger. From the fingers of her shockingly human hands, adorned with talons that would put the proudest hawks to shame, to the long, bony back, and down absurdly lean legs, whatever this creature is, theres not one doubt it is made to kill. Moving with the grace of hunting tiger through the grass with a gait that should look awkward and abnormal, the visitor makes her was towards the shadow looming over the yard. The day may be overcast, but you'd have to be blind to miss the looming Nevermore mansion. M/13, more commonly called The Predator, focuses all her attention on that house. Deep in a corner of her mind, a red blur of madness throbs, waiting for a chance to take over, barely held at bay by years of work. Surmounting the ever-fighting presence with practiced ease, she forges her way through, effortlessly gliding in the grass. this house will be the perfect resting place. Its empty, as she knows from watching and, while she abhors having to connect with humans, its her last chance. How this monstrous mistake of an experiment has found itself in Seabrook, no one knows. She's roamed wherever she can find sufficient nourishment without killing humans, or coming in contact with them, and this has herded her here- a little seaside town she'd avoid, if only she had the strength to. Unfortunately for both her and the villagers, M needs rest, food, and time to re-assert herself, after having wandered mindlessly too long.**

The Captain of the Dead walked silently downt he hallway, heading to the back porch. It was very clear outside, and the captain found it nice, and safe enough to wander around. After all, it was his 'time off' in a way. He was free to roam and do as he pleases for now, everything seemed to be at peace. Gently opening the back door with a ghostly, skeleton hand, he walked outside onto the back deck, and gently closed the door behind him.
Reaching into his long, coat pocket, he pulled out his pipe and eagerly stuck it inbetween his showing teeth. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he looked around, smoke beginning to leak from the end of his pipe and from the holes in the sides of his head adn jaw.
Something was making his joints twinge and the back of his hollowed cranium cringe. Frowning and keeping his hands in his pockets, he shifted the pipe from the right side of his jaw to the left; thinking. With a small sniff he was off, half walking, half gliding across the old boards to the other side of the deck. Something was out there. In his yard. Who? or What, depending on which was more appropriate.
Leaning over, he put his boney chin on his fingers, gently rubbing his cheekbone thoughfully with a thin fingertip. "Hmm..." Standing back up straight, he took the pipe out of his mouth and called to the open yard.
His red pupils traced each moving blade of grass, each tombstone in the distance, the iron barred fences, and the holes and gaps in the gates. His head looked back and forth, searching for the cause of his 'cringes and twinges'. "Who's there?" He walked to the middle of the deck. "It's alright," He added more quietly. "Come out come out where ever you are..."

**A muted growl answers the Captain, though whether or not it's loud enough for him to hear it is debatable. The guttural noise clearly conveys M's emotion- Watch what you do whatever you are. This may not be my territory, but make one jerky move and there will be more pieces of you then there ever was before. Slowly, without even putting thought into it, the hyrid is angeling her body, tensing her legs, to be in the right position- the perfect position- to leap onto this thing, and tear it to little pieces. He doesn't smell of blood, a whiff of the air told her that. no, he smells of something different, unpleasant. But M is hungry, and she can feel her mind wavering. This isn't a human. it doesn't smell like one. She needs food, and she needs it bad, before she looses it again. Besides, she's cornered. Stranded away from her familiar forests, bordered by humans and civilization. And, as any experienced person will know, a cornered animal, especially an aggressive one, attacks. Still though, something holds her back from the lethal spring. The smell maybe? Its nothing she's ever smelled before. In fact, had she not seen the form she wouldn't have know there was a live thing in the house. Or the fact whatever it is knew she was here? How did that happen? And so she stays, crouched in the grass, and, with one more warning growl, waits for his next move.**

The Captain frowned, rubbing his chin with his free hand before putting the pipe back in his mouth and holding it gently inbetween his dead teeth. The Captain may be dead and a ghost, but that didn't stop him from knowing a lot. It was a unique ability he had; to be there when he was least expected. Popping up out of no where.
Scratching his head through his wig and setting his tall hat straight on his head, he set off into the shrugs, trees and long grasses... floating along, actually walking here and there, but majority of the time he just hovered or glided along.
Searching through the lawn, he paused and turned around. Slowly turning in one spot to view the whole backyard, he stroked his chin, taking a deep breath through his pipe. Taking it out slowly in his right hand, the Captain sighed. Okay. So something was out here. But where.
"Where are you?" He muttered more to himself, red eyes looking around. "Hmmph!" He exhaled loudly, turning around to continue his search. Who ever they were, they were good hiders!

**The Predator recoils as The Captain walks straight towards her. He doesn't know where she- thats easy to tell, but he is still walking straight towards her. To her surprise, he passes her, to stand, thinking, apparently, in front of her. Had the ghost had so much as a scrap of meat on him, he would be gone. Instead though, M/13 finds both her instincts and her thoughts agreeing. This thing reeks. Whatever it is, it's not good to eat. This smell that repulses her is the smell of the unnatural, the long dead. The faint, earthy smell of those who should be buried, an unappetizing bouquet of the scents of rot and stale air, mixed with wolfsbane and who-knows-what kind of poison, as well as the smell of stagnant time, and the bitterness of deep loss. In short, the smell of a ghost to an animal. And so, finding her head, she growls.** You would better ask 'What are you?' **Her voice is deep, scratched and rusty, filled with violence, and threatening. Wherever and however she learned to speak, the skill had definitely not gotten much practice. The lethal werewolf-like form is still hidden in the grass, ready spring at the first sign of aggression or danger. Its unlikely that the captain will not notice her, but all her instincts and every bone in her body screams against the idea of showing herself, so she stays immobile.**

The Captain froze. So he wasn't a crazy old ghost. Good. That made him feel better. You knew you it wasn't good when you could see ghosts... or hearing things.. but if you were a ghost hearing things? What did that mean?
Turning on his heel, his red gaze looked over the grasses. "Hmm..." Rubbing his chin, he put his pipe back in his mouth.
Taking a deep, clensing breath, he glanced towards the growling. Interesting. Who ever it was, was a really clever hider, even now she was hard to spot, close his 'eye' sockets, he took a nother deep breath, exhauled, and blinked at the ... creature.
"You can come out of hiding. I'm not going to harm you, nor do I think I could stop you anyways..." He calmly tapped the edge of his pipe, blew it to clear the end, and put it back in his pocket. "But 'what' is not a very polite way of saying hello... so I'll say who."
He opened his eyes. "Well how do you do ...Miss...?" An eye socket raised, clearly indicating her to finish. This person was dangerous, The Captain could sense it so. This was dangerous to be doing, yet he was curious, and had to make sure this creature had no intention of shredding his house.

What ever so much more accurate though.... **Grates the creature. M carefully analises her options. What this ghost says is true, there's little chance he could stop her, and he seems to be genuine about not meaning her any harm. So, she could show herself. But its been years that she hasn't been seen by a creature that didn't end up as her lunch. or dinner. or breakfast... that sounded good actually. Maybe this thing was the right person to share company with. But still, her instincts re-double, telling her the obvious- to stay hidden is to survive. So, she decides to keep this ghost in the dark for now, so to speak. There's nothing that says that he can't continue talking to her without seeing her.** Especially when one doesn't know one's name.

The Captain frowned, putting his hands in his pockets. This creature didn't know her name? That was soemthing they had in common.
"Well I suppose that makes two of us." He sais simply and warmly. "Folks around here call me 'Captain'." He frowned. "Or 'THE Captain' ... or even 'THE Captain of THE Dead. I don't remember what to be called... and apparently they had nothing better to call me."
He tilted his head to one side. Obviously this creature, this ... person didn't want to be seen.. at least not yet. "Well then. I see." He removed his right hand from his pocket and rubbed his chin. he put it back before continuing.
"May I ask what you are doing around here, lass?" He asked simply. "I'm sorry to intrude and all, but so long as it wasn't to go digging up the graves in the Cemetery, or cause mayhem to anyother folk in the area..." He 'blinked', or gave the apperance... if he could. His good humour kicked in, not bothering to finish his sentence. "Well, not that the skeletons would let you dig they're graves anyway. They are a terrible bunch of grumpy bones if I must say so myself... Old, miserable, and tending to yell at anyone that gets too close." He paused, eye sockets raising. "No offence... if at all..."

**M narrows her eyes. Was not knowing your name unusual? Her training life she had responded to a clicker, or to... to... M... M/13. The Predator. Flashes of the life she's buried behind her come to her mind, and she inadvertently growls. Reining in her thoughts as best as she can, she listens to the rest of this person... Captain's speech. Sadly for her, most of it is un-follow-able. 'Cemetery' 'mayhem' and 'graves' along with 'lass' are definitely not part of her vocabulary. Getting the general tone of his voice though, she growls back.** No. I just need... food. and rest. **In that order, definitely, but there was no need to add that. If the only food Captain had was like him, she didn't want any of it. And she wouldn't rest without all her wits about her. Maybe getting help /was/ good. Anything would be better then going on a murderous rampage about town** I'm Experiment M/13. **She adds, realizing that this... 'identification' must be the kind of 'name' the ghost is looking for.**

The Captain put his head back up to its normal straight position on his scrawny, boney neck. Interesting. He hadn't expected a responce like that. Hmm. The growling was soemthing new to him. He had never actually met a creature like this in person. Most interesting and ...different.
"Alright. Miss, M/13..." If that's what she said to be called, then the Captain would respect that wish. Plus he was overall very polite, and that was the only thing she had given him to call her. "What do you like to eat?"
This would answer some of his questions, at least a few. An Experiment. For what? Why? For what purpose? Then again, is she couldn't remember what her 'real' name was, she might not remember why. He frowned, wondering for a few moments, before actually thinking if they even had any food in the house. It was most likely. The kitchens were ALWAYS fully stocked. Not only a few ghosts lived there, but few monsters aswell. They were usually hungry. So there was no doubt they had what M/13 was looking for... unless it was crazily far out there... such as 'barbaqued brusselsprouts'. Captain never forgot the monster that asked for that. It left the next morning.
"Hmm." His eye brows/sockets raised up in wonder, or disbalief, then turned his gaze to the creature before him. "I can assure you that we most likely have soemthing that you like... and there is plenty of space for you to spend as much time as you wish... for rest, food, and shelter."

** Betraying her wary instincts, M's ears prick up. Food? Food is good. Going into the house- not so good. Plus theres still that thing where she would have to show herself in order to get the food. And theres no doubt that any self-respecting human (or bear or wolf or tiger or any animal she was made of), even a long dead one, would be fairly disgusted at seeing her- the grotesque cross of itself with too many other species. Her mind is made up by itself though, in the space of a moment. This is because, as she stands, thinking, she feels a lunge, a desperate attempt from her madness at getting out. Before she can even stop her claws, she finds herself ready to leap and shred the Captain, no matter how horrible-smelling yet kind he is. Catching herself with a waver, she bows her head and growls.** Meat. **Looking back at the Captain and wondering if her insane actions have shown her location, she adds.** That's all I need.

The Captain's eye sockets flashed open and he was suddenly thrown to the wary side. This person was dangerous, or atleast could be dangerous. The sounds coming from the grasses and foliage sent his nerves on alert. Although he knew he was dead, that doesn't mean that she couldn't hurt him. The Captain had realised that when one passes through a ghost, not only is it unplesant for the pass-through-er, but the ghost as well. Most disturbing. It felt just as one would expect to feel as someone goes right through you...
With a small shiver, his gaze now looks abone the area where he had heard the noises. He nods. "Meat. There's lots of that for sure."
"How do like your meat cooked or served? Or in simpler cases, how do you usually eat it?" He asks, taking his hands from his pockets.

**What kind of meat? What on odd question. There were different kinds? Her feet shuffle in the grass again, without her permission, and she growls once more. there is no way she's going to let everything go now, so close to the goal. There is also no more choice. As much as she hates it, she's going to need this ghost's help. Meat was good... but she usually ate it one simple way.** Dead. **Which of course, was more then she could say for some other animals she'd met... She takes the time to take in this Captain character, to keep her mind occupied, and to know what he is, if she has to follow him.**

The Captain chuckles. "Most things around here are dead."
He smiled, which for a skeleton ghost, is quite an unpleasant sight. Then again a ghost in all was an unplesant sight for some. He sighed, scratchign the side of his cranium again. "I meant do you have it cooked? Fried? Raw?" He explained.
His head tilted in M/13's direction, obviously waiting for a responce. Subconsciously thinking, he reached inside his pocket, pulled out his pipe and stuck it inbetween his teeth. It was something he did often. It helped him think, and the hard feeling of soemthing between his teeth was comforting.

**M/13 watches in interest the pie's movements, from his mouth, to his packet and back... what is that thing? As for the meat well, she'll go with raw, the only kind she's ever eaten.** Raw... **The skeleton seems to be... smiling? had she really made someone smile? Suddenly she's tempted to show herself to watch the smile fade off his face. Sure this guy isn't a very pleasant sight, but he could have been handsome, in life at least. Thinking carefully, she can't help but wonder what happened to him? he seems to kinda like her... but so much more confident. One thing's for sure- this guy was never a lab experiment, kept in a little cage like her. Nope, he seems much to grand for that...**
